Alex Derr

Alex is an outdoor advocate, marketer, and storyteller originally from BeaverDam, Wisconsin. His passion for the outdoors began on backpacking trips with hisScout Troop, where he first learned to appreciate wild places and the value of publiclands. He went on to earn degrees in Political Science and Environmental Studies fromthe University of Wisconsin–Madison before heading west to pursue a Master’s inPublic Administration at the University of Colorado Denver. While in Colorado, climbingand hiking the state’s 14ers sparked a deeper connection to the stunning landscapesalong the Continental Divide. Today, Alex brings his marketing and communications expertise together with his passion for conservation to help finish, protect, and elevate the CDT. He lives in Aurora, Colorado, with his husband, Jacob, and their bernedoodle, Summit.
