Ed O'Brien

Songwriter & Guitarist

Ed O’Brien is a songwriter and guitarist best known for his work with Radiohead, one of the most influential bands of the past three decades. As a member of the group, he has helped shape a sound that has continually pushed the boundaries of rock, blending experimentation, atmosphere, and emotional depth. In recent years, O’Brien has expanded his creative voice through solo work, releasing music that reflects a more personal and exploratory approach to songwriting. His latest project, Blue Morpho, which drops May 22, is both an album and a short film—a deeply introspective body of work born from a period of personal challenge and creative reinvention. Drawing on themes of nature, spirituality, and healing, the project traces a journey through darkness toward renewal. Recorded between London and the Welsh countryside, Blue Morpho weaves together elements of psych-folk, ambient sound, and jazz-influenced textures, shaped by a series of serendipitous collaborations and a renewed connection to the natural world.
