Heavy Crownz

HipHop Artist, Farmer, and Community Curator

Heavy Crownz is a HipHop artist, farmer, and community curator with one purpose for his music – to plant seeds that inspire growth in the minds of his listeners. Heavy’s sound is agricultural, and often referred to as Farmer Crownz, he tends to his own gardens by seamlessly integrating community service into HipHop culture. He is the Director of Programs for Imagine Englewood If, a nonprofit organization in Chicago that reimagines a healthy, safe, and thriving neighborhood for youth and their families. Heavy leads the maintenance of urban gardens to grow local produce, hosts power circles for relationship building, and curates workshops that use gardening as a pathway to personal development and mental wellness. At the intersection of concrete and soil, Heavy invites his community to honor their roots, reflect on their struggles, and embody growth daily.
