Sydney Petersen

Sydney Petersen is an American trail and mountain runner specializing in steep, technical, and uphill races. Based in Crested Butte, Colorado, she draws strength from high-alpine terrain and a lifelong connection to the mountains. Known for her climbing ability and calm confidence, Sydney has quickly made her mark on the international stage, racing with gratitude, grit, and an appreciation for the global trail running community that inspires her every step of the way. She made her first US team in 2025 in the Vertical/Uphill event where she went on to place 31st at the World Mountain & Trail Running Championships.
