Born and raised in the vibrant yet challenging neighborhood of South Memphis, Tennessee, Johnathan 'Malik' Martin's journey is a testament to resilience and vision. Guided by his grandmother, a woman of boundless love and sacrifice, Malik carved a path that led him to become his family's first college graduate. In 2016, he decided to pursue a long-held dream. Living in a tent for six months, he tirelessly saved enough money to acquire a camera and lenses. This investment marked the beginning of his entry into the world of filmmaking and storytelling. Today he is an award winning documentary director, a passionate snowboarder, and a vocal proponent of equal access to the outdoors. His latest series A Walk In The Park is streaming on Outside TV.
