Off the Cuff Four

Enmanuel Alexander is a Denver-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, teacher and curator dedicated to amplifying Black and Brown artistry through improvisation and community-centered performance. As the founder of Off the Cuff, his long-running weekly residency at Meadowlark Bar has become a staple of Denver’s creative music scene, bringing together some of the city’s most dynamic improvisers and collaborators. A graduate of MSU Denver’s jazz program and recipient of the Dale Bruning Jazz & Improvised Music Scholarship, Eman blends live looping, Black American music, and soul in his solo project "namebackwards," and collaborates with many different artists including; Kayla Marque, Sound of Honey, Barbara, Wes Watkins and The Parrisian. His performances challenge norms and cultivate community.
