Gio Chamba

Gio Chamba is an Electropical-Cumbia duo from Houston, Texas, formed by Gio Alejandro and Coffee Guzman, blending electronic production, hip-hop, psychedelic guitar lines, and traditional cumbia into a bass-heavy, danceable sound rooted in Houston’s cultural melting pot. Their music, shaped in collaboration with producer Svani Quintanilla (Principe Q)—son of A.B. Quintanilla of Los Kumbia Kings—draws inspiration from Peruvian Chicha while pushing psychedelic-electronic cumbia forward. On stage, Gio’s vocals, tropical melodies, raps, and guitar interplay with Coffee’s explosive, punk-influenced conga playing to create a high-energy live experience that connects immediately with audiences. Over the past decade, Gio Chamba has shared stages with artists such as Ozomatli, Natalia Lafourcade, Chicano Batman, Caravan Palace, L'Impératrice, and Kumbia Allstars. Their latest full-length album, Tropidélicos (Mixto Records), continues to evolve their modern yet familiar sound.
